Last Tuesday night the first Hive Brisbane event kicked off with a bang with guest entrepreneur Richard Eastes from VroomVroomVroom! Richard’s modest and down-to-earth personality allowed him to really connect with the crowd of 60-70 people who returned the favour with some great questions! The Fox Hotel at West End also proved to be a great venue albeit some initial technical issues.

After learning many lessons the hard way over the last decade, Richard shared 6 tips for budding entrepreneurs:
- Choosing a brand name
- To share or not to share?
- Get online
- Innovative staff
- Be entrepreneurial within your niche
- Build your entrepreneurial network
Thanks to Sarah Moran from VodPod Productions for donating her footage of Richard’s presentation on the night for all of those who couldn’t make it. Much appreciated!
The #hivebris Twitter hashtag also got a real workout on the night with a flood of tweets commending @Eastes & @thehive team for their efforts! Thanks guys!
Lastly, I’d personally like to thank everyone for their support leading up to, during and after the event. An extra special shout out goes to Ross Hill & Ned Dwyer (Hive Team) who came all the way from Melbourne to share it with us! It was a great night for all and one I hope is just the beginning of a tight knit entrepreneurial community in Brisbane & surrounds!
