Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people won't, so that you can spend the rest of your life like most people can't.

50 Goals for 2009

01.08.09 Posted in Business, Education, Self Development by Mike Boyd

Here are my top 50 goals for 2009 in no particular order of importance whatsoever. This year is going to be big! Really BIG! I can feel it! Join me on my journey as I try to achieve, and hopefully over-achieve, on the goals I have set for myself below. If we share some common goals, add them to the comments section below and we can all keep each other motivated towards our dreams!

Before success comes in any man’s life, he’s sure to meet with much temporary defeat and, perhaps some failures. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and the most logical thing to do is to quit. That’s exactly what the majority of men do. – Napoleon Hill

-Learn & follow a more detailed budgeting & recording system
-Participate in more business networking events (particularly startup focused)

-Re-build reading habits and read every night consistently before bed – own less books that I haven’t yet read
-Interact with and learn from new people
-Reduce alcohol, Coke (I can only assume you are referring to the carbonated beverage) & coffee consumption
-Maintain regular blog posts at marklobo.com.au (would bea bit weird if i were to update mikeboyd, com.au)
-Dispose of bad sleeping habits – earlier to bed, earlier to rise (this is where the reading fits in for me)
-Focus on building consistent multiple income streams
-BE HAPPY (most important one) – Stay positive :D
-Outsource basic or (time consuming) tasks
-Cook more often and learn new dishes
-Seriously evaluate my time management weaknesses & find a new approach that works for me
-Get things done before they’re due & avoid late nights finishing, projects and work commitments
    -upload photos more often
    -reward myself for achieving goals

Other goals include running twice a week, not skipping meals and eating at regular hours, being grateful, redesigning and implementing a shopping cart system on my website and getting more work interstate, get work that will allow me to work as I travel, getting published in an international magazine, meet and learn from inspirational people, keep my current projects rolling, learn new songs on guitar, visit my mum in Japan, procrastinate less, get a good accountant and fully understand the taxation system etc., get rid of things I don’t need, win a national photo competition. I have a big list too, but those are the main ones!

Hope you manage all 50! All the best for 2009!

  4. Steve T says:

    thats one huge list.

after this weeks game i’ll be more then happy to help you with the game of golf a week goal, i think goal 7 conflicts with 19 lol. this is one huge list tho mike, good idea i may have to do one. best of luck

  5. Aaron says:

I can help with 45. We should have started 41 a while ago. Im more than happy to help with 26! Im going to start putting together my own recepie book (although they may not all be my recepies, they will be my favourites). Ive been super keen to do a photography course for a while. If you are interested in doing it together (maybe Danny as well?) it could help with 27. Havent had a chance to look into it though.

47 – look at either snapfish.com.au or smilebox.com if you want something thats physical. Saves you doing all the work :)

  6. Emerson says:

12, 17, 20, 1, 7, 26, 49 are all ones i think apply to me as well. Although im already working a couple of them. Sorting myself out is also a big one and maybe taking some direction. Having a serious relationship would also be sick. Thats about all i got atm. But yeah if there\’s any i can help out with let me know.

  7. Morgan Daly says:

Impressive. Just the title overwhelmed me. My good wishes to you on your quest. I am sure if you read that list everyday you will achieve it.

  28. Home Loans says:

I admire your initiative to loan money to third world entrepreneurs. Its rare to know of someone who is willing to extend a hand to people who are very much in need of funds for their startup nowadays. As a representative of a Quest Home Loans, a lending company, I really appreciate your thoughtfulness. Kudos mate.

  29. Mike Boyd says:

Thanks mate, I think Kiva.org is such a fantastic concept and we can have such a huge impact on the lives of those who are often less fortunate than us.

It helps the recipient and it makes me feel good. Win win! :)
